Wheaton Mayor Phil Suess Highlights The City’s Progress in 2024 and Vision for 2025
In Wheaton’s State of the City Address, February 20, Mayor Phil Suess underscored Wheaton’s ongoing financial stability. Backing up this assertion, he shared the facts that Wheaton had a balanced budget and a sixth consecutive year without an increase in the property tax levy in 2024. He also highlighted the City’s dedication to infrastructure, citing that, in 2024, more than $30 million was allocated to roads, water systems, and stormwater management.
Mayor Suess also spoke about the growth and vibrancy of downtown Wheaton, which was voted as the “Best Downtown Atmosphere” in the Daily Herald Reader’s Choice Awards.
