Alebrijes: Creatures of a Dream World at Cantigny Park

Come dive into a dream world in this Cantigny Park outdoor art exhibit! Throughout the park, you'll find dozens of imaginary creatures, called alebrije ("ah-leh-bree-heh"), inspired by Mexican folklore. They possess elements from the different animals of which they are composed. Originating from the vivid dreams of Mexican artist Pedro Linares, the artistic tradition of alebrijes gained popularity in the United States with the 2017 Disney/Pixar film, Coco. Forty-eight lively alebrije sculptures—some delightfully oversized and others perfectly petite—populate Cantigny Park. Factory Fridays: Murals and Music
