Description
American Legion Post 76 will host the 2022 Wheaton Memorial Day Parade. The parade will begin at Memorial Park, at the intersection of West Union Ave. and North Hale St. in Downtown Wheaton.
2022 Memorial Day Parade Route:
- Starting from Memorial Park
- Traveling west on Union
- South on West Street to Warrenville Road
- Ending at Wheaton Cemetery
Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May. It honors the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. When this day was first created, in the years following the Civil War, it was called Decoration Day. In 1971, it became an official federal holiday in America. People often observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and attending—or participating in—parades. It also unofficially marks the beginning of summer.
