Bring your own picnic and join us for an evening full of fun. Games, activities, animal visits, and after-hours access to the zoo are all included in your fee. The Wild Side Gift Shop will also be open. This event is held rain or shine. 50% of proceeds support conservation of the monarch butterfly. Preregistration is required. Come dive into a dream world in this Cantigny Park outdoor art exhibit! Throughout the park, you'll find dozens of imaginary creatures, called alebrije ("ah-leh-bree-heh"), inspired by Mexican folklore. They possess elements from the different animals of which they are composed. Originating from the vivid dreams of Mexican artist Pedro Linares, the artistic tradition of alebrijes gained popularity in the United States with the 2017 Disney/Pixar film, Coco. Forty-eight lively alebrije sculptures—some delightfully oversized and others perfectly petite—populate Cantigny Park.
